A Perfect Fit for $5.80

This sweet little oil painting caught my eye at the thrift store awhile back.
For just three dollars, it seemed like a pretty good idea.

I stored it about for several weeks, not sure what to do about a frame, until it finally occurred to me to see if it fit one of the clearance open-back frames I gotten from Hobby Lobby.
 I was so tickled - it was a perfect fit.

This frame was just $2.80.  It was originally silver, so I painted it over with some cheap gold acrylic paint I had on hand.  Nothing fancy.

Open back frames don't come with hooks,
so I nailed on one of these little sawtooth numbers to hang it by.

Now it hangs here to replace the other antique mirror that I used for my fall mantel.

So as much as I am trying to be wary of having and hoarding {yikes!}
...it did paid off this time to have a couple things lying around. ;)
